Steve Mottram - Orthotist

Steve MottramQualifying as an Orthotist in 1981, Steve has been in continual orthotic practice and management since then. His experience covers all aspects of orthotic treatment from young infancy to the problems of old age; from simple trauma to the more complex problems that long term conditions such as Diabetes, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Sclerosis bring.

In 2003 Steve introduced Cranial Remoulding to the UK. Originally working with an American company he was successful in building a strong reputation with the Technology in Motion team in treating infants with plagiocephaly. Building on this experience, he developed the PlagioCare system using new, photographic scanning systems, lighter weight materials and extermely competent and dedicated clinicians and technicians who maufacture the PlagioCare helmets. This system offers the best in photographic scanning equipment and uses the lightest weight full shell cranial helmet. These aspects, combined with strongly developed, ethical clinical protocols gives Technology in Motion the edge in this treatment for the babies that come to see us.

He is committed to education and regularly presents to UK and international audiences on management of plagiocephaly.

Steve is a Clinical Specialist Orthotist, registered with the UK Health Professions Council (HPC). He is a member of the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) and in 2008 to 2010 he was Chair of the Professional Association.

Steve is the Clinical Lead within Technology in Motion and his role is clinical and to research and develop new products and services for Technology in Motion. Within the role, he also works to develop education and training for health care professionals in the UK Health Service and internally within the company.
